EMILY SHEPARDSON

I’m honored to be an artist. It’s not a hobby, it’s a life purpose since childhood, growing up in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

Way back, before the internet, even before air-conditioning was ubiquitous, people would observe, ponder, and commune outside.

People everywhere still want to connect but with every interface being tech, often and ironically, we’ve become less connected.

My art is made to manifest thoughts of home, flight, texture, calm, and connection.

Emily’s work is original, provocative – and, to me, often slightly mysterious. Her vision is unmistakable, no matter what medium she’s working in. I’ve always most admired the strong, expressive graphic quality of her work, with a suggestion of a “world not quite seen” behind it. We have two of her works in our home. We enjoy them every time we look at them, and never see the same thing twice. They’re warm, inviting of interaction, and always elicit a response. Everything we want in a work of art.
